Microsoft announced today a new Xbox One S bundle to coincide with the release of this year’s Madden NFL.
The bundle, which will be released on August 25 – the same day as Madden NFL 18 – comes with the standard edition of the game, a 500gb Xbox One S, a one month Xbox Game Pass subscription, which gives users access to over 100 original Xbox and Xbox 360 backwards compatible games, a two week Xbox Live Gold trial and a 20-percent discount code for the NFL Store. The bundle costs $279 USD. It’s available for pre-order now.
The Xbox One S is the middle child of the Xbox One family. Released between the launch of the standard Xbox One and before the holiday release of the upcoming Xbox One X – a more powerful version of the console – the Xbox One S was released last August boasting a smaller, more compact size, as well as the ability to stream 4K video and High Dynamic Range visuals and audio.
This year’s Madden will come with the series first ever story mode, called “Longshot.” In it, players follow an upcoming football star as he rises the ranks from a teenager to pro. Madden NFL 18 will also ship with three new play styles, allowing players create their own unique styles, as well as daily updates and challenges. It is the 29th mainline entry in the Madden series, which was first published by Electronic Arts in 1988. Since then it’s become a staple of the video game industry, producing over $4 billion in revenue as of 2013.
