When is it on?
October 11 -12th,Basel, Switzerland.
How many years has it been going?
This is the third year of the EU Cloud Foundry Summit. We saw 50 percent YoY growth last year and are trending toward the same this year (we’ve already exceeded attendance from last year). The US event is six years old.
What was the inspiration to start it?
There was significant demand for an EU-specific event around Cloud Foundry. We try to give the community what it wants whenever possible. The explosive growth of the event highlights that interest.
What exciting things can people look forward to for the 2017 version?
The 2017 Cloud Foundry Summit in Basel is going to be phenomenal. We have speakers from some of the biggest companies in Europe who are using Cloud Foundry – VW, Nissan-Renault, Orange, Fidelity UK, and Allianz to name a few. There will also be the first-ever EU on-site certification to become a Cloud Foundry Certified Developer. In addition, this is a very special event every year – the Cloud Foundry community is really well-connected and engaged in Europe, and this event always really highlights that.
What opportunities are on offer for people / developers and companies attending?
Too many opportunities to name, really. Certification for developers, tons of great tracks with focuses on important topics to them like microservices, the project itself and other user journeys. For businesses looking to start their Cloud Native journey – this is a great place to get educated. We’ve also seen these events become a great place for business development. We like to say Cloud Foundry Summits are where business gets done in the Cloud Native world.
What tips would you give to people attending to get the most out of it?
Don’t miss the keynotes and see lots of sessions – but most importantly, don’t neglect the hallway track. The Cloud Foundry Community in Europe is really special. Don’t miss the chance to engage with them.
How can people book tickets / when does it usually sell out?
Tickets are still available here . This event typically sells out every year – we expect that to be the case the week before the event, this year. Don’t delay!
Anything else you’d like to add / we should have asked?
We’re really proud of how this event has grown and all it has accomplished in the last few years. It’s rare for an event to be so community-oriented and still provide an opportunity for companies to build their business. If the move to Cloud Native is an important one for you, be sure you come to Cloud Foundry Summit, Basel.
