Cavs news: Kyle Korver dealing with right foot bruise for more than one week

The Cleveland Cavaliers are going to be without several rotational players for Sunday night’s road game against the Los Angles Lakers, including Cedi Osman, Rodney Hood, and maybe even Kyle Korver, who’s been dealing with a right foot bruise for more than a week, according to a report from Joe Vardon of

Korver told that he has a right foot bruise he’s been dealing with for more than week and aggravated it during the Cavs’ 116-102 loss to the Clippers on Friday.

Coach Tyronn Lue said Korver might not play against the Lakers and Korver agreed it was a possibility, though he hopes to give it a go. Korver missed all four shots he took in 24 minutes Friday.

Osman played just 11 minutes in Friday night’s loss to the L.A. Clippers, scoring three points and one steal. He was not at Saturday’s practice according to Vardon. The Turkish Cup champion suffered what was believed to be a hip injury during the third quarter of Friday night’s game.

“I tried to run and then I heard a pop from my groin,” Osman told ESPN’s Dave McMenamin after Friday’s game in Los Angeles. “This is the second time it happened, actually … I felt pain and I couldn’t run … Right now, when I’m walking and when I try to lift my leg up I feel pain”

Vardon reported that Osman will undergo an MRI scan on Saturday.

Hood left during the first quarter of Friday night’s game with a lower back strain after logging just six minutes (0-3 shooting from the field). The former No. 23 overall pick (2014) is listed as day-to-day for now.

With so many players out due to injuries, Cavs head coach Tyronn Lue has elected to give Jeff Green a starting nod. Jose Calderon and two-way shooting guard John Holland are expected to see playing time on Sunday as well.
