Massimiliano Allegri wants Arsenal to promise him a £200million transfer kitty to spend this summer before agreeing to replace Arsene Wenger.

Wenger, 68, said last month that the Gunners needed ‘two or three’ signings to compete for the Premier League title – but Allegri believes five major signings are needed, according to The Sun.

Allegri, who is set to win a fourth consecutive Serie A title with Juventus, has emerged as one of the favourites to replace Wenger at the Emirates.

But Allegri knows this will be a long journey for a club that has fallen way short both domestically and in Europe over the past five years.

One of the biggest concerns for Allegri is reportedly the lack of discipline in the Arsenal camp.

To address this he will look to secure multiple signings this summer – if he reaches an agreement with Arsenal.

Wenger will oversee his final game in charge of the Gunners on Sunday – they face Huddersfield Town on the final day of the 2017-18 season.
