The World Cup is less than a week away and as eleven Manchester United players prepare to fly to Russia for the tournament the transfer rumours are continuing to ciruclate.
United have already wrapped up some early business by agreeing deals for Brazilian midfielder Fred and Porto right back Diogo Dalot. However, if reports are to be believed Jose Mourinho was handed a transfer blow yesterday.
There were claims United had bid for Benfica midfielder Anderson Talisca but he has favoured a move to Chinese Super League side Guangzhou Evergrande instead.
United’s released and retained list was issued yesterday confirming Marouane Fellaini has yet to agree a new deal and eight players have been released from the club including seven youth players and Michael Carrick who has retired to join Mourinho’s coaching staff.

It’s that time of year when the released and retained list are issued and this year’s list brought confirmation that at least eight players will be leaving the club.
A further six have yet to sign the contracts they have been offered.
